For the second straight season, the Lady Tigers won their District 19-3A opener after tearing down Cameron in the Lady Yoe’s own gym 53-29.
“I think it went really well,” said Meredith Caffey, RHS head girls’ basketball coach. “Obviously we’re on the right side of the victory column but our girls stepped up.

Against ASHS, Rockdale led by 12 at halftime, but the Lady Owls were able to clap back with six three pointers to take the lead.
Anderson was ahead for the rest of the game until a final second drive by Harmon gave Rockdale the victory and first place in the silver bracket.
“Winning is always going to help your confidence going into district,” Caffey said, who is in her second year at Rockdale. “I think our tournaments were beneficial.
“At Snook, we had 5A teams like Elgin and then you had Snook, who is a really good team. It was nice to see a lot of different kinds of teams from all over the place.”
