Friday’s match between the Rockdale and Lexington volleyball teams was a battle until the final set, one in which the visiting Lady Eagles prevailed in the end.
RHS lost the first set 25-14 before bouncing back with a 25-16 win in the second set. The Lee County squad regained the lead, taking the third, 25-21.
Rockdale fought back to tie the match with a 25-17 win in the fourth.
However, the Blue-and-Gold ran out of steam in the fifth set tie-breaker, coming up short, 15-6.
LAST WEEK— Three days before facing Lexington, the Lady Tigers took down Academy on the road, 25-16, 17-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-8, earning Rockdale their first district victory.
THIS WEEK— RHS traveled to McGregor on Tuesday after press time and come back home Friday to face Lorena. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
RHS is 1-2 in three district matches.
