With a successful weekend that resulted in a silver medal, the Lady Tigers improved to 7-3 after finishing second at the Moody Tournament.

First, RHS beat Belton’s junior varsity 42-33 thanks to crucial rebounding by Karli Marburger and Miah Beckwith.

Anna Harmon led the Elue-and-Jold from the field with 12 points.

Next, Rockdale got off to a hot 19-0 start over Blum, eventually defeating the Lady Bobcats 51-30.

Andrea Salazar led RHS with 14.

Ln their final game/ the| fell short 53-52 to Round Rock Christian in a back-and-forth showdown.

According to coach Brian Thomas, missed free throws for RHS were the difference maker.

NORMANGE E – Last Tuesday evening, the Lady Tigers outscored Normangee 17-4 in the fourth quarter to defeat them 42-27 at the RHS Gymnasium.

The RHS defense, fueled by steals made by Payton Miller, Beck-with and Amajahnae Valdez, didn’t allow a single field goal in the final tuarter. NHS only scored on free throws.

Salazar led Rockdale with a total of 19 points.

“We knew that (Norman-gee) was going to put a lot of pressure on us in that two-three zone,” Caffey told K RX T last week. “We didn’t come out like I thought we should. “We’re coming off thanksgiving and it’s like we ate too much turkey I guess. But we were composed and we fought until the end. I’m really proud of our girls.”

THISWEEK–RHS played in Bellmead against La Vega on Tuesday after press time.

The Lady Vikings are 9-3 this season and are coming off three wins at a competitive Whitney Tournament

Rockdale plays in their final tourne| of the season starting in Snook.

RHS begins district play on Tuesday, Dec. 17, in Cameron.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.

JUNIOR VARSITY –

The Lady Tiger JV 3-1 in Moody.

They lost their opener to Belton 31-26, but won three straight with a 25-10 win over Moody, 27-17 win over Troy and a 29-24 victory over Meridian.

According to Thomas, the Lady Tigers were led by Saige Robertson, Perla Perez, Destiny Okara-Clarke, Mijah Crawford, McKena Lopez, Aaliyah McBrewer and Josie Jackson.
