RHS Lady Tiger soccer ended the Cameron tourney victorious, beating Little-River Academy 2-1 to get their first win of the season.

Marisa Hernandez and Ana Pacheco scored the decisive goals in their victory.

Earlier in the tournament, the Lady Tigers fell to Navasota 4-0 before tying with Florence 0-0 Thursday afternoon. On Friday, the Blue-and-Gold lost to Georgetown Gateway 5-0 before beating Academy on Saturday.

THIS WEEK—Second-year coach Shirley Lozano and her group will spend a lot of time on Texas highways this week. They played in Gatesville Tuesday after press time and head to La Vega Friday.

Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.

TIGERS—Back across the Little River in Rockdale, the Tigers trailed 2-0 to Academy at halftime Friday.

However, the Blue-and-Gold fought back in the second half. RHS and the Bumblebees ended the match tied at 2 with goals from Marvin Mata on a penalty kick and Tyler Thomas, who scored on a running play where Matamadethe assist.

Tiger head coach Gilberto Rodriguez was proud of his young team’s ability to learn from their mistakes and improve in the second half.

THIS WEEK—The boys also went to Gatesville on Tuesday and head to La Vega Friday.
