The Lady Tigers crushed the McGregor Lady Bulldogs 13-6 on Wednesday, March 11 in their last game before the COVID-19 postponement.

Coach Meghann Infantino said she has no information about the rest of district play but will continue to monitor the situation.

She opened the locker room for the girls to get their equipment if they want to workout on their own.

“I have been sending them suggested workouts,” she said. “My pitchers are supposed to be throwing a 100 pitches a day. Other than that I cannot control what they do.”

Last Wednesday, bats blistered as Rockdale collected 14 hits and McGregor tallied eight in the high-scoring game.

Rockdale got things started as Haven Jimenez drove in a run in the first inning by hitting a double.

Rockdale iced the game in the sixth inning after they scored six runs. Ryleigh Eanes and Jena Locklin led the Lady Tigers in hits with three each. Mariana Casarez, Haven Jimenez, Emma Whitsel, Emily Depine, and Ryleigh Eanes all earned multiple runs for Rockdale. Brande Breithaupt was credited with the victory.

She surrendered four runs on five hits over three and a third innings, striking out one and walking zero.

Lady Tiger softball games have been canceled as a precaution related to the COVID-19 virus and school officials will continue to monitor the situation.
