RHS netters are off to a hot start dominating in their first two out of three games of the fall season.
“I am very proud of the teamwork and leadership we have shown in these first few games,” Head Coach Kelsey Hudson said. “We still have a lot of work to put in, but the girls have shown a lot of toughness and heart so far.”
The Lady Tigers kicked off their season at home with a loud shutout of the Mumford Lady Mustangs 25-13, 25-9, 25-18 last Tuesday.
Julie Bartsch’s 13 kills fired up the bench and spectators, whose masked faces didn’t prevent them from cheering loudly after each shot and for each one of Haven Jimenez’s five serving aces.
In their second game, the Lady Tigers traveled to Franklin, where they prevailed 29-27, 25-21, 26-24 in a tough matchup against the Lady Lions. After dropping the first set 23-25, the Lady Tigers rallied and won three sets in a row behind Jimenez’s 18 kills and Saige Robertson’s five aces.
The Lady Tigers received their first loss of the season against the Thrall Lady Tigers on Tuesday. After winning the first match 26-24, the Lady Tigers fell in the next three matches 20-25, 20-25, 22-25. Individual statistics were not available at The Reporter press time Wednesday morning
“I believe this team can go as far as they set their minds to,” Hudson said. “Our goals for the year are to make the playoffs and go to State. I believe that it’s possible if they keep up the hard work.”
The Lady Tigers next game will be against the Taylor Lady Ducks on Friday in Taylor.
