The RHS volleyball team continues to impress as Rockdale split two matches over the past week.
The Lady Tigers traveled to Gateway on Friday to face off against the Lady Gators. The girls won in dominate fashion as the swept the Lady Gators in three sets scoring 25-10, 25-16 and 25-11. The Lady Tigers did a great job of taking care of the little things as they only missed two serves the whole game. Julie Bartsch lead the team with 14 kills, while Yolianna Castillo led in assist with 26 and Averie Hobbs led with 14 digs.
On Tuesday, the Lady Tigers fell short against the Bremond Lady Tigers at home. After dropping a tough first set 22-25, the Lady Tigers came back to win the second one 25-22. Unfortunately, they the next two sets 13-25 and 18-25. Stats for the game were not available by The Reporter deadline.
RHS Head Coach Kelsey Hudson says her team displayed good attributes in both games. “I am proud of the focus and leadership we showed against Gateway,” Hudson said. “Against Bremond the girls played great defense and really improved on their blocking.”
The Lady Tigers look to return to their winning ways at home Friday against the Moody Lady Bearcats.
