FRANKLIN—The Rockdale Lady Tigers playoff hopes took a hit Tuesday night in a 4-3 loss to Franklin, a team below them in the league standings.
The Lady Tigers stand 13-11 overall and 6-5 in District 20-3A and in the fourth and final playoff spot.
Rockdale has two games remaining on the schedule, hosting Lexington Friday and traveling to Cameron on Tuesday.
Lexington is second in district play, while Cameron sits just above last place Hearne.
Emily Depine sparked the Lady Tigers with two runs batted in after clubbing a double.
Autumn Montelongo went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and an RBI and scored twice.
Karley Leopold (5-5) absorbed the loss in relief of Cailey Knighton who struck out seven batters and allowed just three hits and one walk.
Tigers
Despite outhitting Franklin, the Tigers fell to Franklin 6-4 Tuesday night.
The Tigers are 4-11 overall and 0-8 in District 20-3A.
Josh Springer paced the Tigers at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two euns batted in.
Colby Monroe also clubbed a double and Jackson Perry had one RBI.
