The Lady Tiger varsity volleyball squad is now 14-15 but this team is seriously better than their record.
Tue sday night they played a road game against the Thorndale Bulldogs and came home with a win beating the Bulldogs 3-1.
During the week the Lady Tigers played in their own Rockdale Tournament. The varsity squad lost games to Milano, Meridian and Richards. They had victories over Florence and Austin Royals. This Lady Tigers team finished in second place in the Silver Bracket. Congratulations Lady Tigers!
On Friday they lost a home game to the Holland Hornets in five sets.
“We have had to regroup” said former Tiger and Head Volleyball Coach Morgan Laughlin. “We have moved some players around on the net, for example Molly Moody and Grace Patton. Molly has transitioned well to being a middle hitter and putting up big blocks for us.”
“The same with Grace, she is vital to our play as she blocks outside hitters,” the coach added. “Saturday we played well. Our first game against Austin Royals was the best we have ever played. I’m really pleased how the girls played that game. Right now it’s just little things we need to fix. We have such great ability as a team.”
The next volleyball games are against the Bremond Tigers here at home, JV1 plays at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m.
