Milano fought back in Bartlett Thursday morning after the Bulldogs scored five runs in the first inning and another five in the third.
Trailing 10-2 in the top of the fourth, the Eagles scored two runs after taking advantage of an error and a single from Weston Avrett, who went three-for-four that day.
MHS scored two more runs in the fifth and sixth thanks to a home run from Julio Martinez and a RBIdouble from Bryson Richards.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to take the win at BHS
Josh Millar saw the mound for the Maroon-and-Gold and struck out 10 batters.
THIS WEEK—T h e Eagles end their series with Bartlett at home Tuesday and stay home where they face Granger Friday.
First pitch is slated for 4:30 p.m.
LADY EAGLES—The Milano softball team last played Tuesday at home against Milam County neighbor Thorndale, losing 19-2 to the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s 23rd-ranked team in Class 2A.
Molly Ybarra led MHS at the plate, going two-for-three and Toni Meyer pitched, striking out four.
Emma Davenport, Karyme Santana and Aaliyah McBrewer also had hits.
