The third annual MAK Agility Camp will take place at the Rockdale High School athletic facilities on Saturday.

Herbert Jones, one of the camp’s founding members and a former Division I athlete at Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La. and schoolteacher got the idea for the day-long training session in 2017.

“I had a vision of doing something positive for the kids in the community,” Jones told the Reporter last month. “I thought of an agility sports camp because sports has helped me in my life.”

For the past two years, Jones has done the camp with Rockdale High School alum, Texas Tech standout and now Indianapolis Colts offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark, who has been the face of the camp for the past two years.

Clark was the person who came up with the name MAK Agility Camp to honor Monterious Hancox, Ahkeem Williams and Ki’adie Han-cox, who all passed away in a car-train collision in May of 2010.

He won’t be able attend the MAK this year due to preparing for a contract year in the NFL and will have to spend the summer focused on the upcoming season.

However, Jones, has the hands of several RHS coaches and volunteers who will help him manage the eight diferent stations for Saturday’s camp.

All students ages 7-18 are welcome to participate in the camp. Same day registration begins at 7 a.m., and the kids will be put into eight different groups the next hour. Station-training will begin at 8:30 a.m.
