This past Sunday afternoon at Thorndale Volunteer Fireman’s Recreational Hall, THS junior Branson McCoy and senior Ashley Pesl were named Outstanding Male and Female athlete at the school’s athletic banquet.
Pesl was named District 26-2A’s Defensive MVP in basketball and also received first team all-district honors in volleyball in addition to being named to the Texas Womens Coaches Association’s Academic All-State team.
McCoy finished eighth in the 100-meter dash at the state track and field meet earlier this month and was named to District 26-2A’s first team in basketball.
He was also a District 12-2A-I honorable mention on both offense and defense in football.
