Milano came up short at Thrall Friday night, as the Lady Eagles lost their season finale to the Tigerettes 39-29.

The Lady Eagles played THS close, but were unable to make up for a Thrall run early in the game.

Natalie Compton had eight and Aaliyah McBrewer finished the game with six. The Lady Eagles finished District 27-2A play with a 1-9 record. The team had no juniors or seniors.

“This group of freshmen and sophomores worked hard all season,” said coach Stacey Compton. “Their heart showed in the way they played and I’m looking forward to having them all back next year.”

EAGLES—On Friday, Milano’s hopes of making the playoffs evaporated in a 71-66 loss to Thrall in District 27-2A.

MHS beat Thrall 67-60 on Jan. 19, and if both teams ended district with a 5-5 record, Milano would have automatically won the tie-breaker for the final playoff spot.

Jayce Todd led with 24 points and Bryson Richards had 12.

Milano also lost at home to Holland 50-38 three days before.

The Eagles faced Granger on Tuesday after press time and close out the season Friday when they host neighbor Thorndale.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
