On Saturday, Milano High School graduate Timothy Demeritt Jr. celebrated his 21st birthday by winning a gold medal in the mile relay, a silver in the 400-meter dash (47.4) and bronze in the sprint relay for the Prairie View A&M University track and field team.

Former Eagle Devonte Jones was also a part of the sprint relay squad.

Demeritt, a 2018 graduate of MHS, was a part of the Eagle state champion track and field team his senior year where his gold medals in the 400-meter run, mile relay and sprint played a big part of getting the school’s first ever state title.

Jones, who graduated the year after Demeritt, played a big part on the 2018 and 2019 state championship teams.

In 2019, Jones won gold in the 100-meter dash and earned silver in the long jump. He also ran anchor for the Eagles 4x200-meter relay team that also took home silver.
