Following the conclusion of their 2019 volleyball seasons, 10 Lady Bulldogs and five Lady Eagles received District 27-2A honors
THORNDALE—Thorn-dale seniors Landri Leschber and Madi Smith were both awarded the most valuable player honors and classmate Allison Albert was named Defensive Player of the Year.
THS freshman Kyndal Robinson earned Newcomer of the Year after leading the team in assists.
Jayci Martinka, Ashley Pesl were named to the first team and Raeghan Carlson and Landri Martinka made the second team.
Shannon Hadd was an honorable mention.
All 10 of them also received academic honors.
Thorndale’s season came to an end last Tuesday after falling to eventual state finalist Burton. The Lady Bulldogs won the district title going 14-0.
MILANO–Sophomore McKenna Robertson and senior Abby Miller made the first team and Danni Shaw made the second.
Shaw, Miller, Kaitlyn Telg, Angela Zeig and Bethanie Compton all earned academic honors.
The Lady Eagles finished their season in fourth behind Thorndale, Thrall and Granger who were all ranked in the top 25 by Texas Girls Coaches Association throughout the season.
