The Milano and Thorn-dale track teams have a combined 28 student-athletes that will compete at the Region IV track meet held at Javelina Stadium in Kings-ville on April 26-27.
Devonte Jones will represent Milano in five events including the sprint relay, the long jump, both hurdle events and the 100-meter dash. Parker Jones will also represent the Eagles in the 3200-meter run, the mile and the 800-meter run.
Others Eagles competing are Christian Thurman, Gus Downey Chris Sootoo, Drew Demeritt, Kathen Funburg and Marquise Jones.
Lady Eagles competing are Jaden Carmichael, Kayce Midkiff, Emma Batten, Abby Miller and Sterling Robertson.
For Thorndale, senior Hannah Laurence will compete in five events including the triple jump, long jump, 110-meter hurdles, the sprint relay and the four-by-two.
Other Thorndale girls competing are Elise Biar, Landri Leschber, Allison Albert, Ava Vicnair, Lauren Newton, Ash Kiesling, Victoria Smith, Saryn Peel and Landri Laywell.
Corey Preusse on the boys team is a state meet veteran. He placed fifth in the shot put in 2018.
Mason Drumm, Michael Herzog, Corbin Preusse and Preusse will be competing in next week’s 2A regionals.
