Milano and Thorndale baseball players named to district teams

Nine Bulldogs and five Eagles were named to the Coaches All-District 27-2A teams Thursday.

For THS, Mason Kuhl was named the co-defensive most valuable player and freshman Logan Davis was newcomer of the year.

First teams selections were outfielder Ty Kovar, infielder Corey Preusse and pitcher Collin Taylor. Infielders Scott Guzman and Corey Preusse were named to the second team and Justin Paxton and Michael Herzog were picked as honorable mentions.

Guzman was also selected to play in the Austin Area Coaches Association All-Star game in June at Dell Diamond.

The all-state academic teams had five Bulldogs. Kellen Hubnik and Preusse were named to the second team and Tyler Shillings, Nick Gerren and Taylor were honorable mention in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association list.

MILANO – For Milano, pitcher Danny Cloud was named to the first team and pitcher Tucker Taylor was picked for the second team.

Honorable mentions were Hayden Weaver, Kameron Funburg and Kathen Funburg.
