GRANGER—The Eagles lost last week on the road against the Granger Lions. The final score was Lions 51, Eagles 14.

The Eagles put the first points on the board with Eagle junior quarterback Anthony Valadez hitting junior standout running back Andres Ruelas for an 11-yard touchdown pass. Ruelas then made the extra point kick and Milano went up 7-0.

Granger then took over and the Eagles were quiet until the fourth quarter. After the Eagle defense gave up 51 points to the Lions the Eagle offense found their way into the end zone. Running back Andres Ruelas rushed three yards for an Eagle touchdown. He then made the extra point kick making the final score Granger 51, Milano 14.

“We started off with a couple of big pass plays but couldn’t hold up on defense against Granger,” said Head Football Coach Nick Moorehead. “This Friday we will have to play very well to be able to hold up against the speed of Chilton. The Pirates have speed on both sides of the ball.”

UP NEXT— The 4-5, 1-3 Eagles will host the Chilton Pirates this Friday for their last game of the season. The Pirates are 8-1 over all for the year and 3-1 in district play. Kick off will be at 7 p.m.
