The Milano Eagles ended their 2019 season with a 20-10 loss on the road to Bremond, splitting their series with the Tigers after beating them 7-5 this past Friday.

The Eagles got off to a fast start against pitcher Trent Biggerstaff with six runs in the opening inning of play, which forced Bremond Coach Taylor Rowe to pull Biggerstaff after 26 pitches.

Tucker Taylor, Alec Hernandez, Nate Gray and Chipper Gordon led the charge for Milano all batting runners in to give them a 6-0 lead.

Taylor stopped the Tigers in the bottom of the first but gave up seven runs to Bremond runners in the second inning.

MHS took the lead again in the top of the fourth 8-7, but the Tigers slipped away with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth. They were powered by a Johnny Bielamowicz double and singles by Biggerstaff and Peyton Antis.

Bremond held on to lead to defeat the Eagles after six innings due to the 10-run rule 20-10.

Taylor led MHS from the rubber with one strikeout in 3.1 innings. Standouts at the plate were Gordon, Taylor, Kathen Funburg and Marcos Ruelas with two hits eatch and Hernandez had one hit.

Milano finished their season with a 3-14 record overall and a 2-12 record in District 27-2A.

With the exception of senior Funburg, the Eagles will have their entire lineup returning next year. Eight of the 14-player roster were sophomores and freshmen.
