MHS was unable to stop Marlin’s running game early in their 38-14 loss on Friday night.

The Bulldogs outrushed Milano 332-130 with Sir Charleston Lee finishing the night with 167 yards on 22 carries and Braylen Fisher accounting for 132 yards on 14 carries.

Fisher also had a good passing game against the Eagles with a 71-yard touchdown pass to Tra Butler in the first minute of the game. Gabriel Pena made the PAT.

Fisher scored again midway through the quarter on a punt return to give the Bulldogs a 14-0 lead.

Milano got back in the game almost two minutes later with a Ethen Knight touchdown pass to Drew Demeritt for 65-yards. Marcos Ruelas made the PAT to make it 14-7.

Marlin regained comfort in the second with a 10-yard TD run and a 36-yard field goal by Pena to send the Bulldogs up 24-7 at halftime.

In the third, Lee scored his first TD of the night with a goal line run early in the quarter.

Milano’s Josh Millar scored his first touchdown of the season on a 34-yard run midway through. Pena made the kick to make it 31-14.

Marlin scored once more later in the third on a Fisher pass to Tydae Peel from the 11-yard line. Pena made the PAT to make it the final score of 38-14.

The Eagles were led by Millar, who had five carries for 83 yards. Demeritt was the top receiver with two catches for 65 yards. Knight was four-of-nine with 82 yards.

Milano also had three players with more than 10 tackles: Jeremy Reyes(12), Noah Benavides(11) and Marquise Jones (10). Ruelas also had a fumble recovery.

MHS travels to Rosebud-Lott this Friday to plays the Cougars. Both teams have yet to win a game this season.
