Milano’s loss to undefeated Thrall on Saturday dropped them down to third place in District 25-2A standings, behind Thorndale.
The Lady Eagles, now 7-3 in district and 19-11 overall, lost to the Tigerettes in three close sets, 21-25, 21-25,16-25 and swept Buckholts in three earlier in the week.
The Lady Eagles were led by the Robertson sisters at the net. Sterling had four kills, along with six digs, and two blocks. McKenna had five kills and five blocks.
Danni Shaw had nine digs and five assists and Abby Olson had five digs.
This was Milano’s second loss to Thrall and their third defeat of district play.
On Tuesday, the Lady Eagles swept the Buckholts Lady Badgers 25-8, 25-9, 25-16, for the second time in district play this season.
McKenna Robertson had 17 kills and Sterling Robertson had 11.
Their success was in large part to the passing of Shaw and Laynie Bastow, who had 17 and 15 assists, according to Coach Wendy King.
She said, Abby Miller also had a great streak of serving, with nine aces on the night.
The Lady Eagles played on Tuesday night after press time in Mumford against the Lady Mustangs for the second time in district play.
Milano plays its next match on Saturday at home against the Granger Lady Lions at 1p.m.
