The Milano Eagles basketball team played competitively against Flatonia last week. The Bulldogs did, however, end up winning with a final score of 58-50.
Milano then faced the Thrall Tigers later in the week and lost 60-27. The Eagles are now winless in district play and have only one win for the season.
COMING UP— Milano was to host Thorndale on Tuesday. Then they will travel to Granger on Friday for a 7:30 tip off.
Lady Eagles
The Milano Lady Eagles were idle early in the week but then faced a Thrall Lady Tiger team that kept full court pressure for most of the night.
Milano was down at half time 24-22 and it looked like the Lady Eagles would have an opportunity to get ahead in this game. Head Lady Eagle Coach Matthew Hernandez made some adjustments but it was not Milano’s night and the Lady Eagles would lose 49-27.
This was the first district loss for Milano and a bitter pill to swallow but this was a game of the undefeated. Thrall is now 6-0 and Milano is 5-1.
COMING UP— The Lady Eagles were to play at home against the Thorndale Lady Dogs on Tuesday. On Friday they will take on Granger in Granger at 4:30 p.m. Thorndale is 3-3 in district play and the Lions are 2-4.
