Area runners won and placed in District 25-2A cross country meet in Gause on Monday.

Milano Junior High’s Kadance Koenig won the first place medal with a time of 12:51 in the two-mile race. She beat second the second place finisher Holland’s Tessa Burton by two seconds.

The Thorndale Lady Bulldogs team placed second in district with three runners in the top 10. They were: 4. Bailee Baker, 14:02; 6. Makaelyn Vivas, 14:18 and 8. Natalie Garcia, 14:23.1.

Other runners who helped in the team’s title were: 13. Abby Dickerson, 14.59; 19. Samantha Sanders, 15:51 and 26. Alyssa Pachl, 16:54.

Gause Junior School runners were: 20. Jessica Collins, 15:33; 22. Libby Bitsoie, 16:08; 30 and Devyn Smith, 20:48.

In the boy’s race, MJH had one boy runner. Wyatt Koenig placed sixth with a time of 11:59.

Thorndale Middle School had five boys run, including two that placed in the top ten. They were: 5. Blake Roberts, 12:55; 8. Raymond Avalos, 13:13; 19; Kendal Hubnik, 14:59; 20; Hobbs Gray, 15:12 and 22. Everton White, 16:56.
