On Friday evening, Milano fought back in a 56-49 loss to Holland.

The Eagles got off to a slow start, trailing 15-3 at the end of the first but closed the gap and made it interesting with a season-record 10 three-pointers.

Ethan Gordon made four and Layne Telg and Jayce Todd each made three.

Gordon and Telg were also the leading scorers with 15 while Todd had 13.

LAST WEEK–Three days earlier, MHS fell 71-40 to likely playoff squad Thrall.

Gordon led with 15 and Telg had 10.

THIS WEEK–The Eagles played Granger on Tuesday after press time and travel to Mumford on Friday.

The Eagles are winless in District 25-2A but are a roster made up of mostly freshman and sophomores.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

LADY EAGLES– Before the boys game, Milano’s girls fell to Holland 68-17.

This was second time the Lady Eagles have lost to HHS this season after losing 35-31 on Friday, Dec. 20, at home.

LAST WEEK–Earlier in the week, Milano also fell to Thrall 63-17.

Bethanie Compton led MHS with five. Laynie Rose and Katie Trowbridge each had four.

THIS WEEK–The Lady Eagles played Granger on Tuesday after press time and play next on Friday in Mumford.

MHS has been without sophomore point guard Sage LoBue since she injured her ACL on Friday, Jan. 3, during the fourth quarter of their last match-up with Granger. They are also without sophomore post player McKenna Robertson.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
