Rockdale softball fans will have to wait until the March 10 District 19-3A game against Lexington to watch the Lady Tigers take the field at home.
Last week, the weather wreaked havoc on Coach Meghann Infantino’s carefully planned seven-team Rockdale Softball Invitational Tournament.
Steady rain fell in Rockdale on Wednesday and Thursday.
“I attempted to stay in contact with the coaches and kept moving the games back, but it just kept raining,” she said. “Our field was soaked all the way through, and there was water standing on the majority of the field. I called Thursday’s games on Wednesday, Friday’s games Thursday and Saturday’s games early Friday morning. I couldn’t get the field prepared in time.”
The Lady Tigers, who have 2-3 pre-season record, lost 20-12 against Groesbeck on Thursday. They will play at the Jarrell Tournament through the weekend.
