A COLUMN TO BE NAMED LATER

Football is officially over for me this year... maybe I should start a dating advice column now? —wt— The leaves changing colors sure are nice, right? I recommend y’all to drive around town or take a walk just to see all the nice shades of yellow, orange and red. They’re very lovely.

—wt— Texas A&M beat LSU on Saturday, 38-23. Good for them, sounds like they could’ve used a win or two....or three or four. —wt— Nearly two weeks ago, Jacob Campsey stepped down as Rockdale High School head football coach. I will say that maybe it wasn’t a perfect fit, but he’s a good guy and likable to the point that I wanted to see him have success as a head coach here. —wt— People of Rockdale, you have to learn to not take every opportunity to complain.

I mean, complain about the stuff that warrants it (like having a boil water notice multiple times in one month), but stuff that doesn’t warrant a complaint? You’ll just come off as argumentative and it reduces your credibility the next time you have a reasonable and legitimate complaint.

I’ll even break it down for you.

• Having roads bad enough that you constantly have to switch to the left side of the road to avoid pot holes? Reasonable complaint.

• Mad that there is traffic because that same road is being fixed after you and many other people complained that it needed to be resurfaced? You’re reaching and you’re just going to sound whiny.

• Mad that the resurfacing project has taken at least a year longer than it was expected to take? Reasonable complaint.
