Rockdale ISD trustees continue to narrow their search to replace the winningest head football coach in Rockdale history.
Supt. Dr. Denise Monzingo said the search to find a replacement for Jeff Miller has winnowed 19 candidates to 9 and will be cut to three for in-person interviews.
Those three will make presentations and the new head coach/AD will be named March 26, Dr. Monzingo said.
Miller left March 6 to accept a position in Cypress-Fairbanks, his high school alma mater.
During his 14-year career at RHS Miller set school records for wins (106) and games coached (156).
He coached 12 playoff teams, won a state championship in 2017, advanced to the regional semifinals twice and to the regional quarterfinals five times.
