Thorndale wrapped up its perfect district championship ledger with a couple of fairly close wins.
The No. 1 ranked Bulldogs disposed of Holland 55- 0 on Tuesday after a 55- 2 win over Mumford on Friday.
Thorndale improved to 28-3 on the season after cruising through league play 1t 10-0 in District 25-2A.
The Bulldogs average margin of victory in district was over 35 points a game.
The Bulldogs will face either North ulch (9-1 or Normangee 20-12 in the fi rst round of the playoffs at a site and time to be determined.
The Bulldogs constructed a 31-23 lead at intermission after trailing 17-10 in the first tuarter.
Thorndale clamped down on Holland, holding them to 12 points in the second and third tuarters while building a 4 5-29 lead.
Sam Reaves and Ty Prince both collected 17 points in the victory.
Against Mumford, Prince worked for 2 points, followed by Reaves’ 1 .
Thorndale actually trailed after the first tuarter for the first time in district, 16-15, but easily recovered and led 4 7-28 heading into the final period.
Milano closed out its season with a 4 3-31 loss to Mumford.
The Eagles end up 8-13 overall and 1-9 in District 25-2A play.
Christian Thurman guided Milano with 18 points.
Mumford ran away with the game by outscoring Milano 22-1 in the second half.
