Dawgs run record to 7-0-1 on the year

Despite the fact that there are some members of the Thorndale baseball team is busy trying to win a state championship in basketball, the Bulldog baseball team has gotten off to an impressive start nonetheless.

No. 1 ranked Thorndale blitzed through the Snook Tournament unbeaten to improve its record to 7-0-1 on the young season.

Thorndale upended Brazos Christian, 7-4 and got things moving in the first inning as Corbin Pruesse drove in one when he singled.

The Bulldogs pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning as Mason Kuhl singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run and Ty Kovar singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Jayden Simank took the win for Thorndale, lasted three innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out four and walking one.

Trey Ortiz threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Ortiz recorded the last six outs to earn the save.

Kovar went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Thorndale.

Fifth inning plays a key role in the Bulldogs blow out over Grapeland 7-1.

Contributing to the big inning included Coleby Driver, Cory Huber, Mike Reyes, Collin Taylor, and Trey Ortiz, all driving in runs in the inning.

Driver pitched Thorndale to victory, allowing two hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven.

Driver led Thorndale with two hits in two at bats.

The Bulldogs defeated St. Joe’s despite allowing a 3-run inning.

Thorndale weathered a push by St. Joe’s in the fifth inning where the Bulldogs coughed up three runs, but still won 6-3.

Thorndale scored four runs in the fifth inning. Bulldogs contributing to the big inning included Corbin Pruesse and Collin Taylor, all driving in runs in the inning.

Ty Kovar took the win for the Bulldogs. He surrendered three runs on two hits over five innings, striking out fi ve and walking one.

Thorndale saw the ball well today, racking up five hits in the game. Driver and Trey Ortiz each managed multiple hits. Ortiz and Driver each collected two hits.

Thorndale Bulldogs Varsity Clinches Lead In Fourth Inning To Defeat Abbott

Thorndale snagged a late lead and defeated Abbott 15-9.

The game was tied at six with Thorndale batting in the top of the fourth when Mike Reyes grounded out, scoring one run.

The Bulldogs earned the victory despite allowing Abbott to score six runs in the first inning.

Thorndale fired up the offense in the first inning, when Driver doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Ortiz earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound, going five innings, allowing five runs on four hits, striking out three and walking one.

Reyes started the game for Thorndale and allowed four runs on one hit and walked one.

Thorndale collected seven hits. Ortiz and Simank all had multiple hits and Ortiz led Thorndale with three hits in three at bats.

Thorndale stole the lead late and defeated Riesel 5-4 on Monday.

The game was tied at four with Thorndale batting in the top of the sixth when a sacrifi ce bunt by Justin Paxton scored one run.

A four-run lead in the fi fth inning was just enough for the Bulldogs to hold off Riesel for the victory.

Thorndale put up three runs in the fifth inning and the rally was led by triples by Kovar and Driver and a single by Pruesse.

Driver was the winning pitcher for Thorndale, allowing six hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out ten.

Thorndale saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Tyler Shillings and Kovar all managed multiple hits as Kovar and Shillings each collected two hits.
