Thorndale continues to dominate league opponents

Thorndale pitchers teamed up and didn’t allow a single hit in a 19-0 victory over Bremond to move to 5-0 in district play for the No. 2 ranked Lady Dogs.

The offense was boosted by sophomore Jayci Martinka who went 4-4 from the plate.

Riley White pitched the fi rst two innings, allowing zero runs, zero hits, and striking out six.

Her sister Bailey White closed the game with 2 k’s and a pop fly.

The Lady Dog offense was on fire racking up multiple hits. Martinka had 4 hits, Allison Betak, Riley White, Bailey White, Hannah Laurence and each had 2 hits.

Jordyn Bigan, Madison Kelm, Caitlin Garcia and-Maddie Flores each had a hit. Madison Kelm & Bailey White each drove in 3 runs.

Thrall

The Lady Dogs blew out Thrall 16-2 Monday night in a run-rule win.

In the first innings with 2 outs, Riley White singles. She scored on a set of errors by Thrall. In the bottom of one, White walked the lead off runner and she scores of a single in the inning.

The score remained tied until the top of the third. The bases were loaded up with Betak, White, and Bigan.

With 2 outs and the bases loaded Madison Kelm triples on a 2-0 count. The Dogs go up 4-1.

The Lady Dogs offense go fi red up again in the top of the 5th. Bigan singled on a ground ball and Maddie Flores reaches on error and scores Bigan.

Kelm walks and Bailey White steps up and singles and scores Maddie Flores. Jayci Paulsen doubles and scores 2 RBIs.

Hannah Laurence steps up and doubles scoring Paulsen. The inning ended with a fly out and strikeout.

Thrall stayed cold at the plate with a strikeout, groundout, and a flyout.

Riley White got the Lady Dogs started again in the top of the 6th with a double. Jordyn Bigan reached on error and scored White.

Bailey White singled to right and scored Flores.

Caitlin Garcia doubled on a fly ball to left fi eld. Hannah Laurence doubled deep into center field and scored White and Garcia. Martinka singled and scored Laurence.

Ashleigh Paulsen stepped up and singled to left and scored Martinka.

The inning ended with a ground out and flyout.

White was on the mound the entire night for Thorndale, collecting 11 strikeouts, allowing only 3 hits, 2 walks, and 1 earned run.

Milano

Thorndale defeated rival Milano 5-0 in a pitchers dual with sophomore Thorndale’s Riley White striking out 14 and Milano’s pitcher Jenna Lewis striking out 10.

White had a two out double in the first but she did not make it across home plate.

In the top of the second inning Milano’s bats came alive with two singles. White struck out the third batter. Jayci Martinka had an amazing stop at shortstop and threw to Bailey White at third for a second out.

Riley White finished out the inning leaving the runners stranded and striking out the third batter.

Jordyn Bigan started out the 2nd inning with a single. Madison Flores laid down a bunt to move the runner and arrived on first base safely.

An error at first allowed Bigan to move all the way around to third base. Bailey White stepped up and layed down a beautiful sacrifi ce bunt and scores Bigan and Flores.

Hannah Laurence singled on the bunt in the same inning. Martinka singled to centerfield and scored one.

Martinka was caught stealing to end the inning.

The score remained the same until the Lady Dog offense got fired up in the bottom of the 6th.

Freshman Jayci Paulsen stepped up and doubled to center field just missing the fence.

Paulsen scored on a wild pitch and then Jordyn Bigan walks. Madison Flores gets on with an error to a ball deep into centerfield.

Caitlin Garcia grounded out but scored a big run for the Lady Dogs. The inning ended with a strikeout.

Riley White finished the top of the seventh with 3 strikeouts in a row.
