On Saturday evening, Rockdale High School had their first ever alumni game at the Lady Tiger softball field with an opening ceremony prior to the game and a closing ceremony before an after party at The Ranch.
The event was held in honor of Alex Sandoval, an 11-year old RIS student who died from a rare form of brain cancer in May and raised $3,400 for the Rockdale Girls Softball League.
The Gold team, who won 12-11, consisted of Mindy Rogers, Lacey Sharp, Brittany Mantey, Hailey Evans, Krista Phillips, Briana Mireles, Brini Loy, Traci White, Kayleigh Montelongo, Lisa Vest, Marissa Mireles, Kayla Deary, Maci Nygard, Amanda Caffey, Faith Talley, Haley Perez, Julianna Juarez, Kelsey Jenkins, Makayla Ramirez, Jordan Myers, Cailey Knighton, Karley Leopold, Macy Knesek, Averie Hobbs, Ryleigh Eanes and Terry Garza. The gold squad was coached by RHS coaches Meghann Infantino and Jade Laake. Tonya Lougon, who was Sandoval’s nurse, also played.
The blue team members were Kelly Pickel, Priscilla Barcak, Shannon Thompson, Courtney Paulsen, Kambi Biaha, Theresa Tindle, Jamie Benavidez, Melissa Owens, Stacie Wallis, Terri Sandoval, Amanda Jackson, Lani Morton, Nikki Wilhite, Amber Robinson, Kristi Battles, Chasity McCoy Jensen, Ginger Rundell, Lacy Barcak, Amy Casas, April Frei Vargas, Danielle Schulman, Felicia Alexander, Jannon Young-Keen, Lynsey Taylor, Meagan Satterfield, Megan Davidson, Krystal Baylor, Laura Bauer, Caitlyn Lammers, Kelley Tater, Kylie McCoy, Toni Hilton and Kaitlynn Schnerr. Coaches were Jaime Boswell and Angela White.
