With the conclusion of the 2021 season, eight Rockdale baseball players earned District 19-3A awards.
Freshman Cruz San Migel (catcher/utility player) and Mario Casarez (pitcher) were named to the first team as well as junior Tra’on Crawford (infield).
Senior Enrique Rivera was picked for the second team along with freshmen Mason Willard and Blaydn Barcak.
Honorable mentions were Jesus Bocanegra and Drayton Castaneda.
The young Tiger baseball team, which started five freshmen this season, finished their district slate with a record of 5-7.
LADY TIGERS—District 19-3A picks for softball were also announced with junior Haven Jimenez being picked for the first team and recent graduates Hannah Rodriguez and Mariana Casarez earning second team honors.
Juniors Brande Breithaupt and Salome Cardona were named honorable mentions.
STATE—Kaitlyn Rash was named to Academic All-State team.
The Lady Tigers ended the year 3-9, in a district where two teams made it past the first round of the post-season.
