The Rockdale Tiger baseball team was undefeated last week, winning both of their games against the neighboring Lexington Eagles.

The Tigers traveled to Lexington early last week and won 7-2 before hosting the Eagles on Saturday and winning 4-3. The Tigers are now 3-1 in district play.

“We are in a good position,” said former Tiger and head baseball coach Austin Caffey. “We need to keep controlling what we can and take each game one at a time. We are playing solid defense which has become our team identity.”

“We need to keep working to find ways to keep our bats consistent through the entire ball game,” he added.

COMING UP— Next up for the boys of summer are two games against McGregor. The first was scheduled for Tiger Field on Tuesday. Then they will travel to McGregor for a 7 p.m. Thursday game. The JV will play at 4:30 p.m.

The losing streak continues for the Rockdale Lady Tiger softball team.

They gave up two games against Lexington last week. They lost on the road 10-0, before losing in front of a home crowd 16-2.

COMING UP— The Lady Tigers are 0-6 in district and were to face another winless team when they played McGregor at home on Tuesday. Then they will travel to McGregor on Thursday for a game at 6 p.m.
