Rockdale High School varsity basketball teams will start their the 2018-19 District 19-3A DIII season with two new faces.
Meredith Caffey, the new head girls basketball coach, said the Lady Tigers held their first practice last week.
Caffey, an El Paso native, received her bachelors degree in history at Sul Ross State University, where she also ran track. She has coached 14 years at Morton, Nazareth, Winters, Crosby-ton and Clyde.
The boy’s basketball team is scheduled to start its first after school practice on Thursday, according to new Tiger Head Coach Sean Coleman.
He is a Houston native and played college basketball at University of Tulsa and University of Houston. He received a bachelors degree in sociology. Coleman has played professional basketball in Japan and Mexico.
