The Rockdale Boys Soccer team pulled out a close victory against the Hearne Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Friday.
The Tigers earned a commanding 2-0 lead at the end of half.
Hearne scored two goals within the first two minutes of the second half.
“I could tell Hearne had improved,” Coach Gilberto Rodriguez said. “They were playing harder, and I knew it was going to be a close game.
The Tigers were able to hit a clutch goal towards the end of the game to seal their second victory in a row.
“I feel like it was a wake up call for us,” Rodriguez said. “Even though Hearne is in last place they kept playing hard, and we have to do the same thing.”
The Tigers take also eked out a victory over arch rival C.H. Yoe in thrilling fashion on Monday, March 2.
With the score tied at 0 at the end of regulation play, the game was decided by a penalty kick shootout.
Brandon Hernandez scored sc0red goal for the Tigers to capture a 1-0 victory.
After the game, the Tigers lost Hagan Land to an injury
The boys will look to keep their winning streak alive as they prepare to face Manor New Tech on March 10.
