Last week, Tiger and Lady Tiger distance runners began preparing for the 2021 season under fifth-year coach Cheryl Meuth.
“We have a very exciting group of runners,” Meuth told The Reporter this week. “We have grown to 25 for the high school group and now have enough for a varsity and a junior varsity.”
Meuth also said the RHS teams start their season Friday at a meet held near town in Apache Pass.
“It’s going to be a fun mile-relay style meet over bridges, through woods and ends with a dash across the San Gabriel River,” she said. “We have six schools coming to compete and are so excited to start our season at home.”
The first relay is expected to start at 8 a.m.
This is RHS cross country’s only race of the month as they aren’t scheduled to run again until Saturday, Sept. 4, at Lake Bryan.
