In their final games before Thanksgiving break, Rockdale’s Lady Tiger basketall teams defeated three Milam County teams, going 3-1 at the Lady Yoe Tournament in Cameron.
RHS outscored Milano 70-19 Thursday afternoon. Anna Harmon led the Lady Tigers with 18 points.
Andrea Salazar and Julie Bartsch were also in the double-digits with 17 and 12.
After a five-hour wait, Rockdale lost 46-41 to Rosebud-Lott.
Salazar led with 14 and Payton Miller had eight.
Big Blue’s second win came Saturday when RHS beat Thorndale 46-43. The Lady Tigers ended up on top thanks to 18 points in the fi nal quarter.
Last, Rockdale beat rival Cameron 45-32 in the final game of the tournament.
Harmon led Rockdale with 13 and Amajahnae Valdez had nine.
BURTON–Tuesday evening, the Lady Tigers obliterated Burton 60-26 for their first road win of the season.
According to coach Brian Thomas, the Lady Tigers had a strong push in the second half and scored 22 points in the fourth quarter alone.
Salazar scored a season high of 21, Harmon had 11 and Miah Beckwith finished the night with six.
NORMANGEE–The Lady Tigers don’t have any scheduled games during Thanksgiving break and will be back on the court against Normangee at home on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
NHS made it to area last season before falling to eventual state semi-finalist Mason 64-47.
Junior varsity begins at 5p.m., with the varsity tipping off right after.
MILANO–The Lady Eagles fell 70-19 on Thursday afternoon to Rockdale.
Other scores weren’t made available by this week’s presstime.
On Monday, Milano faced another Lady Eagle squad when they traveled to Bruceville-Eddy after press time.
MHS plays next on Tuesday, Dec. 3, against Rosebud-Lott.
Tip-off for varsity is set around 6:30 p.m., in Milano.
EAGLES–Milano lost 65-43 to Rosebud-Lott on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
MHS trailed 32-26 at halftime but the Cougars outscored them 33-17 in the second half giving the Eagles the loss.
Milano was scheduled to play Lexington three days later, but the game was canceled due to the Lee County school’s volleyball team competing at the state tournament.
Milano played on Tuesday after presstime, in Rockdale and play next on Tuesday, Dec. 3, against Bryan’s St. Joseph Catholic School.
Varsity is scheduled to begin around 6:30.
