Facing 8-2 Rogers for the second time this season wasn’t much easier than the first time they faced them when the wrong RHS won 51-24 on Jan. 5, in Rockdale.
This time on the road, the Lady Tigers lost 51-34. Sophomores Saige Robertson and Julie Bartsch led with 10 and nine points respectively.
Freshman Ciara Miles had five, Miah Beckwith had four and Mijah Crawford and D’Erika Hurd each had three points.
The Lady Tigers were off on Tuesday and returned to action exactly a week later with a game against Lexington at home after press time.
Coach Meredith Caffey and her team hope to take down Caldwell in their season finale on Friday across the Burleson County line.
In their first meeting on Jan. 12, RHS lost 47-38 in a game that the Lady Hornets took over in the fourth to stretch their lead from three to nine.
TIGERS—L i k e t h e girls, the Tigers were also off Tuesday but went to Rogers on Friday and faced a playoff ready Eagle team that won 74-33. With an already young team that boasts one senior starter surrounded by three sophomores and one freshman, Rockdale has also had problems with injuries which has limited their depth.
They also hope to not only win their first district game, but to seek revenge for a loss on Jan. 12 after Caldwell went on a 17-7 run in the fourth to win at RHS 49-47.
Tip-off for the Tigers at CHS is 7 p.m.
