Bocanegra, who won the meet for the second straight year, talked about the feeling of taking first in Thrall and how the season is going for him so far.

“Winning a meet feels amazing, especially when you win with your team,” he said. “My team and I have been putting in the work and setting high goals for each other.”

The RHS junior has been very motivated this season after a concussion during a baseball game led to him not being able to compete at the area track meet last spring.

“Once I was cleared, my main focus was to train for my junior year,” he said. “Because I knew I had something to prove.”
