In their final volleyball game of the first half of their district schedule, the Lady Tigers fell on the road to Rogers 18-25, 10-25, 25-21, 21-25.
The Lady Eagles, a team that ranked in the top 25 until recently, was able to take advantage of RHS with their size against Rockdale’s small, defensive-minded team.
Despite falling 18-25, 10-25 in the first two sets, the Lady Tigers stayed in the mix with 10 of their 13 blocks coming in the third 25-21 win in the third set. Rogers outlasted Rockdale in the fourth 21-25 to take the match.
Julie Bartsch and Anna Harmon led the Lady Tigers both with 1o kills and five blocks apiece. Harmon also had 10 digs. Yolianna Castillo was instrumental setting up Bartsch and Harmon with 32 assists on the night. Libero Payton Miller had 13 digs.
TUESDAY–RHS traveled to Troy on Tuesday, Oct. 1, where they fell to the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s 10th-ranked team in Class 3A 20-25, 18-25, 15-25.
Harmon led Rockdale with six kills, Castillo had 11 assists and Miller had 15 digs.
CAMERON–The Lady Tigers played Franklin on Tuesday after press time. They host Cameron at 4:30 p.m., in the RHS Gymnasium on Friday.
The Lady Yoe won the first match on Friday, Sept. 20, 23-25, 21-25, 14-25.
Rockdale’s District 19-3A record as of press time is 2-5.
