First-year coach Shirley Lozano and the Lady Tigers played in their first tourney over the season when they travelled to Cameron.
The Rockdale squad opened this past Thursday with an 8-0 loss to Navasota. On Friday, RHS fell 6-0 to Academy.
THIS WEEK—Both RHS teams hosted Florence after press time Tuesday evening.
The Tigers stay at home Friday when they face Madisonville at 5 p.m.
While the boys’ host the Mustangs, the girls travel to Madisonville to play in a tour nament for the second consecutive weekend.
Both teams will be back in Rockdale Tuesday, Jan. 26, when the Tigers open district play against Hearne to play the Eagles for the fifth time in school history.
In the four times they’ve played the Robertson County team, RHS has gone 3-1 and has outscored Hearne in those matches 25-3.
The kick-off for their first District 19-4A match is at 6 p.m.
The Lady Tigers don’t begin district until Feb. 6, but host Needville at 4 p.m.
