For the 87th time, the Rockdale Tigers and the Taylor Ducks will go head-to-head with a game in Williamson County Friday evening.

Although the series, which THS leads 46-37-3, is a popular game for both schools in it’s own right, this year will be particularly different as Tiger fans might recognize a couple of faces on the other side of the field.

First-year Taylor head coach Brandon Houston, also known as “Huey,” was the offensive coordinator for the Blue-and-Gold during their 2017 state championship run and his offensive coordinator is RHS Class of 2014 graduate Pete Heintze, who has worked under Huey all but one of his years as a coach.

DUCKS—Taylor, who is picked to finish last in District 13-4A-I, is coming off a 32-13 road win over Robinson, breaking the school’s 20-game losing streak.

The Ducks were led by three receiving touchdowns from Jarvis Anderson, a junior receiver who was born deaf. He transferred from Round Rock’s McNeil High School, where he finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles at the Class 6A state track meet this past spring.

ONLINE ONLY—The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. and Taylor is only selling tickets online.

Tickets can be found on the TISD athletic page under “Ticket Sales.” When you get to the “Ticket Sales” page, click on “Get Tickets” which will take the user to a page with ticket options. Rockdale fans can select how many tickets they want to the right of the “Visitor General Admission” which is located directly above the “Checkout” button.

The “Ticket Sales” page is also where Rockdale fans wanting to attend the RHS volleyball game in Taylor at 4:30 can purchase tickets.
