Rockdale’s eighth grade “A” team led early in Bellville after Camden Huff’s three-yard touchdown but three Brahma touchdowns in the second and third quarter were too much for the Tigers as they lost 22-14.
De’andre Nunn also had a 65-yard TD pass from Brody Willard for which Huff completed the two-point conversion.
According to coach Eric Willard, Huff, Nunn and Stephen Goodrich were the standouts on offense; Landon Deason, Wilmer Sorto Ventura and B. Willard were defensive standouts.
COMBINED 7/8B—Bellville 24, RJH 0
Offensive standouts were Dylan Clark, Zayd Gwyn and Luke Oliveras. Standouts on defense were Eduardo Rivera, Jacob Oertli and Brennan Conner.
7A—Bellville 38, RJH 0
Standouts on offense were Greyson Williams, Cohen Razo and Jace Henderson. Defensive standouts were Dominik Lopez and Bryson Duncan.
JV—Bellville 32, Rockdale 6
THIS WEEK—All Rockdale teams open district with McGregor this week. RHS junior varsity will play in McGregor at 6 p.m., while RJH teams will host the Bulldogs. Play begins at 4:30 p.m., starting with the combined team.
