It was two home runs from junior Ryleigh Eanes that put RHS past Thrall 10-5 in their first official game of the season on Thursday at Lady Tiger Field.

The visiting Tigerettes got ahead early, leading 5-0 going into the bottom of the third after Addison Leschber hit a three-run bomb.

However, that was when the tides began to turn for Rockdale. Eanes walked to get on base and scored after an overthrow on a Mackenzie Musto slap down the third base line.

Musto scored after that on a Jena Locklin ground-out to make the game 5-2.

The Lady Tigers tied the game on Eanes’ first home run, which scored Mariana Casarez and Haven Jimenez.

In the bottom of the fifth, Rockdale took over for good.

First, Locklin scored on a hit by Emily Depine which led to Depine scoring on a hard ground ball by Emma Whitsel.

Eanes added to their lead with another three-run homer, this time scoring Whitsel and Salome Cardona.

After that, all it took was a three up, three down in the top of the sixth to give Rockdale their first win of the season.

Haven Jimenez was the winning pitcher striking out five and allowing two hits in 4.1 innings. Brande Breithaupt also pitched 1.2 innings.
