The Tiger long distance crew ran in Lexington on Friday. Both the girls and boys varsity teams came home winners. The Lady Tigers finished third overall with Daniella Bocanegra placing ninth and Aliana Ramos placing 11th in their individual races.
The boys varsity came in first place overall. Individual medalists were Jesus Bocanegra with a first-place finish, Alex Cooper coming in third, Jose Tenorio fourth, Austin Caldwell seventh and Tiger Zeb Skrhak 14th.
JV— The JV cross country teams ran in this meet as well. The girls came in second overall and the boys team came in first.
Individual JV girl racers that came home with medals were Makayala Zamora, first place; Peyton Matula, fifth; Alison Rodriguez, eighth; Janaya De La Garza, 10th; Yaretzi Hernandez, 11th; and Lady Tiger Morgan Hicks was 14th.
Individual medalists for the JV boys team were Wyatt Smith, first; Cohen Razo, third; DJ Travis, ninth; Jesse Luna, 10th; Diego Garza, 11th; and Chase Nadeau with 14th.
Triangular Meet (Cameron) On Wednesday, the varsity Tiger racers ran in the Milam County Triangular Meet held in Cameron. Rockdale came out big winners in all four divisions.
Varsity boy’s Tiger runner Jesus Bocanegra won first place and varsity Lady Tiger Ciara Miles also finished in first place for the girls.
The varsity boys winning team included Tigers Jesus Bocanegra, Jose Tenorio, Alex Cooper, Austin Caldwell, Aaron Montelongo, Zeb Skrhak and Shawn Gerren.
The varsity girls winning team included Lady Tiger runners Ciara Miles, Daniella Bocanegra, Izabella Delgadillo, Lucy Grivas, Aliana Ramos and Hannya Ugalde.
JV— Both boys and girls JV had first place finishes at this meet. Tiger JV boy’s runner Wyatt Smith came in first place.
Head Cross Country Coach Cheryl Meuth said, “I am so pleased of the grit each of these runners showed.”
