The Rockdale Lady Tigers Basketball team got back on that victory train against district neighbor Lexington last week. The final score was Rockdale 46, Lexington 43.
Standout players for the Lady Tigers were Ciara Miles who scored 19 points, Tanisha McBride scored eight points and Jazalle Dunn & Alli Lay contributed five points each to this Tiger win.
Head Lady Tiger Basketball Coach Danielle Froggatt shared, “We fought hard, played tough on defense and together we pulled out the win.”
After a very heavy and competitive pre-district schedule the Lady Tigers are 2-1 in district play.
COMING UP— After Christmas they will head over to Thorndale on Dec. 27-28 for the Thorndale Shootout.
Tigers
The Tiger Basketball team is headed into the Christmas break 1-0 in district play after beating the Lexington Eagles last week. The final score was Rockdale 67, Lexington 54. Key players in this game were De’Andre Stephens who had 35 points, 12 steals, four rebounds and had four assists. Steady Alex Cooper had 10 points, five steals, three rebounds and two assists.
The Freshman Tiger team also won over Lexington 10-6 and JV suffered a loss, 19-22. Tiger Josiah Smith playing for the JV scored 10 points.
COMING UP— The Tigers varsity team will hit the road on Dec. 27-28 to play in the New Caney Tournament.
