This Rockdale Tiger Train is still rolling down the track and winning ball games.
Big Blue was busy last week taking on Hempstead at home on Monday and winning 10-0. Later in the week the Tigers played in the Rosebud-Lott Tournament and came out with a 3-0-1 record in the tournament. The Tigers beat Holland with an astonishing score of 18-0, Groesbeck 8-3, Mumford 5-2 and tied Palestine Westwood 4-4.
Former Tiger and head baseball coach Austin Caffey said, “We are continuing to get better. I was pleased with our defense. We executed some specific things we’ve been working on and consistently made routine plays.”
“At the plate we are doing a good job of not expanding the zone and making the opposing pitchers come to us,” he added.
COMING UP— This week the Tigers were to play in LaGrange on Tuesday before playing in the Sacred Heart Tournament later this week.
JV— The JV team had an impressive win against Hempstead at home, winning 8-0.
Lady Tigers
The Rockdale Lady Tigers went 5-0 last week.
They traveled to Granger and beat the Lions 8-5 and then played in the Holland Tournament and left undefeated, beating Chilton 19-0, Holland 5-2, Hillsboro 11-3 and Holland one more time 14-3.
COMING UP— The Lady Tigers were set to play in Florence on Tuesday, before traveling to Taylor for the Taylor Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
