The struggling Rockdale Lady Tigers softball team lost to Lexington at home Friday night, 10-0.

COMING UP— Rockdale is currently 0-3 in district play and will not play again until Tuesday, April 1 at home against Little River- Academy. Game time is 6 p.m.

The Big Blue Machine baseball team is pumping out the W’s. Rockdale took two games from Lexington last week. The Tigers beat the Eagles on the road, 6-1, before winning in front of a great home team crowd, 6-5.

Former Tiger and head baseball Coach Austin Caffey said, “We are continuing to work on minimizing big innings, eliminating mistakes. We want better offensive production and defensively we want to minimize freebies like errors, walks and hitting batters. We’d like to start stringing together quality at bats so we can produce runs.”

FIRST GAME— Pitcher Mason Lillard struck out 14, walked three, gave up only three hits and one run in seven innings.

Tigers Slayde Harris, Austin Caldwell, Brody Willard, Greyson Williams, Kade Lillard and Stephen Goodrich all contributed offensively in the victory. Goodrich went three for four. Willard had two RBIs and went two for four. Williams and K. Willard led the team with two walks each.

SECOND GAME— Slayde Harris started on the bump and gave up three hits, four runs (three earned), struck out three and walked six in four innings of work.

Pitcher Austin Caldwell finished the game and earned the win by only giving up two hits, he had one run (unearned) while working for three innings. He struck out three and walked one.

THIS WEEK— T he Tigers were scheduled to play Pflugerville Connally High School on the road Tuesday (after The Reporter deadline). The Cougars are winless in district play.

The Tigers are 2-1.
