The Big Blue Machine had a great weekend playing in the Brazos Christian High School baseball tournament in Bryan.
The Tigers went 3-1, their only loss was against the host Brazos Christian 5-4. Rockdale beat Snook, 18-1; Abbott, 5-0; and Westbury Christian, 6-4.
Former Tiger and head baseball Coach Austin Caffey said, “We had some really strong pitching performances last week in the tournament. Mason Lillard threw a six inning no hitter. We were in control of all four games.”
UP NEXT— The Tigers will play in the West tournament this weekend.
Lady Tigers
The Rockdale Lady Tigers softball team beat Granger at home last Tuesday, 4-3.
They also played in the Taylor tournament with mixed results, going 2-2-1 overall.
The wins came against Taylor, 5-3, and Anderson, 8-7. The Lady Tigers lost to Caldwell, 3-1, and Elgin, 6-4. Rockdale tied the Hutto JV, 6-6.
COMING UP— The Lady Tigers hosted Rogers Tuesday (after The Reporter deadline) and will play at 6 p.m. Friday in Rogers.
