The Rockdale Lady Tigers basketball team is now 1-5 in district play after losing both of their games last week.
Early in the week Rockdale lost a game against Thrall, 32-23, before they dropped their game against Rogers, 46-39.
Key players in the Rogers game were Trinity Hurd with 18 points, three rebounds, five deflections and three steals along with Kyndal Selgelid who had eight points and 10 rebounds.
COMING UP— Up next for the Rockdale girls team was to be a game on Tuesday (after The Reporter deadline) in Cameron and then they will host Lexington at 6:15 p.m. Friday.
Tigers
The Rockdale Tigers basketball squad is on a roll winning two important district games last week that has them 3-1 in district play.
The Tigers started the week by punishing the Thrall Tigers 59-31.
Key players in the victory were David Penny with 16 points, four rebounds and one assist; Alex Cooper, eight points, two steals and three assists; Josiah Smith, eight points, eight rebounds and one steal; De'Andre Stephens with eight points, four rebounds, three steals and three assists.
The Tigers then dug deep to win a close game against the Rogers Eagles. The final score of this game was 60-58.
Key players were De'Andre Stephens with 17 points, four rebounds, four deflections and one steal; Alex Cooper, 15 points, three rebounds, two assists, five deflections and five steals; and Josiah Smith with eight points, eight rebounds, two assists and three steals.
UP NEXT— Coming up next for the Tigers was a road trip to Cameron on Tuesday (after The Reporter deadline), then a home game on Friday against Lexington. Game time is 5 p.m. for freshmen, 6:15 for JV, followed by the varsity at 7:30.
